Getting Here

There are two airports that you can use to get to and from La Manz – Manzanillo International Airport (45 minutes south of La Manz) and Puerto Vallarta International Airport (3 ½ hours north of La Manz).

At Manzanillo Airport you can rent a car from Hertz, Budget or Alamo. Pre-booking by Internet is advised. or you can take a taxi for $60-70 USD.

At Puerto Vallarta Airport you can also rent a car (several companies) or take a bus to Melaque, then take a local bus or a taxi from there.

A first class bus service from Puerto Vallarta to Melaque is available on the Primera Plus. Typically, there are 2 scheduled departures 7:45am and 12:15pm. When in La Manzanilla there is a regular local bus service to Melaque or Barre or taxis are plentiful and can take you where ever you wish to go. Driving during the day in Mexico is pretty much like at home, obey the traffic laws like you would at home and there should be no problem. If driving at night watch for vehicles with fewer or no lights and when going through small towns, be aware of speed bumps (topes), pedestrians or wandering livestock.

Manzanillo (ZLO) is serviced by US carriers: Alaska Airlines, offering service to and from Los Angeles, Continental/United with service to and from Houston and USAir with service to and from Phoenix. Flight schedules will vary by season. Canadian carrier Westjet also has service into and out of Manzanillo.

Puerto Vallarta (PVR) is much larger and has a wider variety of flights and carriers. Todays arrivals and departures for each airport can be found beneath the map
